Once reported to Law Enforcement, an investigation begins with collecting evidence to make a case.  Then, Law Enforcement will submit all the evidence they collected to the State Attorney’s Office.  Anything you say during the investigation will be used against you.  If you are under suspicion as a suspect, you should not speak with Law Enforcement without an attorney present.
